Design, build, and test an electric RC aircraft for the AIAA Design Build Fly competition. The team works through the full development cycle: interpreting mission requirements, choosing an aircraft configuration, manufacturing components, and flight testing.

Explore what it takes to keep an aircraft aloft on solar energy. The project develops lightweight structures and solar-powered systems toward its goal of long-duration autonomous flight. Work spans design, prototyping, solar encapsulation, and carbon-fiber fabrication.

Tornadrone

Engineering for the eye of the storm.

Tornadrone aims to develop a high-speed drone capable of entering and following the center of a tornado. The goal is to collect measurements such as wind speed, temperature, and humidity to help researchers understand conditions inside severe storms.

3D Printed Airplane

Print lighter. Glide farther.

Design a fully 3D printed aircraft for endurance-glide competitions. A short burst of thrust gives way to unpowered flight, making every gram and every aerodynamic decision count. The team explores structural optimization, material behavior, and inventive manufacturing methods.
